FØUNDRY is a hosted proofing and visualization tool operated for commercial print shops (“Shops”) by its platform operator (“we,” “us”), based in Colorado. Shops use it to build 3D visual proofs of foil, spot UV, embossing, and cast & cure embellishments and, if they choose, to share those proofs with their own customers for approval.
What applies to you depends on how you reach the tool:
Everyone should read “How we access hosted data” and “What we don’t do” further down — those apply across all three groups.
You reach this tool only through a private, unique link sent to you by the print shop preparing your order — copied directly to you, or delivered by an automated email from our system. The link is not indexed, listed publicly, or guessable. Anyone with the link can view the proof it points to, so treat it like any private document link: don’t forward it to anyone you don’t want viewing or acting on your proof.
When you view a proof: standard web server access logs, including your IP address, browser/device information, and timestamp. These are generated automatically by our server, not something you submit.
When you approve or request changes: the name you type, any comment text you enter, your decision, and its date and time.
Your proof artwork is the imagery your own print order already provided to the shop — this tool doesn’t collect it separately, and viewing it requires your unique link.
Email addresses: if the shop sends you a proof link by email through our system, we use that address only to deliver the notification. We don’t use it for marketing, add it to a mailing list, or share it beyond delivering your link.
We keep proof-approval records (name, comments, decision, timestamps) for as long as the shop retains the related print project in its production records. Server access logs are kept for routine operational and security purposes and are not kept indefinitely.
Want a proof link deactivated — project finished, sent to the wrong person, or you’d simply like it off? Contact the print shop that sent it (your sales representative, or reply to the email that delivered it) and it will be disabled.
Account information: your name, email address, role, and a securely hashed password — we never store your password in readable form and cannot see it.
Session records: server-side records that keep you signed in, tied to your account (the only cookie we set).
Your work in the tool: the projects, uploads, and settings you create or edit as part of your job, stored under your Shop’s workspace.
Your email address is used solely to identify you for sign-in and account-related notices. We don’t use it for marketing, and we don’t add it to a mailing list.
Other users at your own Shop, with appropriate permissions, can see your name, role, and activity within your Shop’s workspace. Users at other Shops cannot — workspaces are walled off per Shop. See “How we access hosted data” below for the operator’s own access.
We keep your account and session records for as long as your account is active, plus a limited wind-down period after your Shop deactivates it, as described in our Terms of Service.
We use Shop-level data to operate your workspace, apply your branding to customer-facing pages, invoice the add-ons you’ve enabled, and provide support. We do not use your branding, pricing, or project data to build products for other shops, and we do not sell it. Our internal administration console shows Shop-level metadata only — it does not provide a browsing view into your projects or artwork.
We want to be direct about this: because we operate the servers Embellishment Studio runs on, we have infrastructure-level access to all data hosted on the platform — including files on disk and database records — even though our own administration console does not provide a view into a Shop’s workspace. We limit our actual use of that access to:
We do not access or use hosted data — Shop content, Shop User accounts, or Guest information — for any other purpose, including marketing, profiling, or building features for other shops.
We use Gmail / Google Workspace to send proof-link notifications and account-related emails. That is the only third-party service involved in handling the information described in this policy.
Data collected through this platform is stored on operator-controlled servers in the United States. Today the tool runs on a private internal network; if we make it reachable over the public internet in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect that change.
Whatever your role, you can ask what information we hold about you, request corrections, or request deletion consistent with the retention terms above and our Terms of Service. Guests: contact the print shop that sent your proof link — they can also reach us on your behalf. Shop Users: contact your Shop’s administrator, or us through your Shop’s account representative. Shops: contact us directly through your account representative.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we’ll update the date above and, where practical, provide additional notice such as an in-app notice to Shop administrators.
